Thanks to the few of you who knew that my birthday was this past Wednesday.  I try not to make a big deal of it, but… a few of you snuck some birthday wishes through facebook, and I appreciate it.  So…  here’s what I got for my birthday:

1. a $50 gas card

2. a George Webb hoodie

3.  the fish that sings “Give me back that filet-o-fish!  Give me that fish!” from the McDonalds commercial.

What can I say?  My friends and family have a strange sense of humor.

Current fav Kiss song: BEP “Rock That Body” – I can’t tell you how loud I crank that in the studio!  Also loving Jason Darulo “In My Head.”

Well, another Valentines day is here.  I…. am single.  So, for all you SINGLE people out there, here are some things to be happy about this Valentine’s Day.

Reasons for the LADIES to be Single on Valentine’s Day

  • You don’t have to deal with him pretending to smile
  • You don’t have to return his “thoughtful” but idiotic gifts
  • You don’t have to share your box of chocolates.
  • You can wear your worn-out, comfortable pj’s all day.
  • Bad hair day?  Who cares?  Nobody needs to see.
  • You don’t have to shave your legs.
  • Your cat is probably better company.
  • You don’t have to be one of those girls whose man forgot all about Valentine’s Day to begin with.

Reasons for the FELLAS to be Single on Valentine’s Day

  • Go to see “Dear John”?  I don’t think so…
  • You can stay home and drink beer.
  • Shop at Victoria’s Secret?  Only to check out the chicks…
  • Shave?  Nah…
  • T-Shirt and basketball shorts…  enough said.
  • You can watch UFC fights all night.
  • You won’t have to answer questions about your feelings.
  • Two words:  video games.
  • You can even take the money you MIGHT have spent on her to buy more video games.

Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

So, I’m one of the biggest Viking haters around, and am extremely jaded with the whole Favre going to Minnesota thing, BUT….  you have to admit, for him to sing “Pants on the Ground” in the locker room is pretty damn funny!

Dating…

Posted in: DJ Shakes

Okay, so let’s make a long story short.  I was married for 7 years, and nowI’m NOT.  Can I vent about something?

As if the dating world were not complicated enough as it is…  I don’t understand these “rules” that some girls have.  Wait, let me rephrase – I just don’t AGREE with it.  I had a girl a few weeks back tell me that she couldn’t date me because her friend liked me, so I was “off limits.”  Wait – don’t I get a say in this?  What if I don’t LIKE your friend?  NOT FAIR!

AND – PLEASE ladies, for the LOVE OF GOD, don’t randomly show up at a guy’s parents’ house after only one date.  I know my car was parked in the driveway, but that does NOT give you permission to invite yourself over.

Where are the NORMAL girls?  I was excited at first with my newfound freedom…  It’s been over a year now, and I’m growing cynical.  SOMEbody prove me wrong!

On a different note, LOVING tik tok by ke$ha, sexy chick by david guetta, , how low by ludacris, and of course, owl city still.  also, WISH we were playing “transform ya” by chris brown.

That’s all for now.  FB = Deejay Shakes.  Hit me up!

Ok, my first blog of the new year.  Resolution #1 :  Update my blog at least once a week.  You wouldn’t think it’s that difficult.  What’s my excuse?  Don’t know – let me think while I list more resolutions.

#2.  Renew my teaching certificate.  Yes, that’s right folks, I am certified to teach HIGH SCHOOL.  I know, it’s scary.  BUT… in order to renew my certification, I have to take a class in Native American studies AND Women’s studies.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to study women, but…  now I’ll have to PAY for a class to do it.  Grrr…

#3.  Wash my car more.  Poor thing – only gets clean when it rains.  :(

#4.  Get more exercise.  Yes, i know it’s cliche, but I LOATHE exercising just for the sake of getting exercise.  I LOVE playing sports, so maybe I’ll join the Kiss softball or dodgeball team.

#5.  Get a computer.  “You don’t have a computer?!?!?”  NO.  Well, I DID, but…  it kinda…  well, got flooded.  Long story.    I lost all my pics, songs, movies…  :(   gonna need a replacement soon.

Hope YOU set some goals for yourself too.  Make it a good year!  Happy 2010!

Personally, i think it’s much sexier with Lady Gaga, but Cartman (South Park) adds some nice emotional flair to it…

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Even though I’m a little too old to be trick-or-treating, I do like to scope out the coolest costumes. This one’s pretty good!

So, in honor of our “Old School” weekend, I thought I would give you some TRUE old school rap.  Authentic.  I mean, it’s SO old school, it’s from a VCR tape of the Arsenio Hall show!  Enjoy…

Another Saturday night.  AWESOME that the website says that Matt Cooper is on the air!  Maybe I should call and make him come in!  ;)

So, I recently saw both “The Hangover” and “I Love You Man,” because I had some friends raving about each.  I have to admit, “The Hangover” made me laugh OUT LOUD several times, even though I was watching it by myself (sad, I know).  I wasn’t AS impressed with “I Love You Man,” even though it WAS funny when he said,”I slap a little bass” like 50 times.  VERDICT: ‘Hangover’ – a must; ‘Love You Man,’ – a renter later on if you’re bored.

I can’t believe summer is almost over already!  MPS starts on Tuesday.  Guess since my 5 weeks in Myrtle Beach were a blur, I can’t really complain.  Just means my band starts playing CLUB gigs and private parties instead of festivals.  I kinda like festivals!

Current Favorite KISS song: I Gotta Feeling

Check back soon!
