I had my baby shower this weekend and got lots of cool stuff! Here are just a few of the cool things I got that I thought you might appreciate…

I got a Wisconsin tummy time mat from my girlfriend.  How cute is that!?

Below that is a wooden childrens chair with a Packers emblem on it from my in-laws.   Love it!

And the bottom pic is a shirt my friend got Bella.  It says “Only Child” marked out and then “Big Sister” below it.  Too cute!

I saw this picture on the news last night and it led to about half an hour of crying!

It is a picture from the funeral of Navy Seal Jon Tumlinson who lost his life when one of 38 people were killed when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan this month.

His loyal dog Hawkeye(a labrador retriever) walked down the aisle and layed down by his casket and wouldn’t move.  I can’t believe how much dogs understand  and how smart they are!  So sad!!  I’m crying just writing about it!

In case you are wondering what is going to happen to the dog now, well, his best friend will be taking care of him and was also the same person taking care of the dog while he was in Afghanistan.

It appears to be official!  Many different websites are reporting that Sonoma winemaker Ben Flajnik, the runner up from last season of the Bachelorette, will be the Bachelor this season!

I am thrilled because I always liked him and lets be real….he was WAY too stable for Ashley!  lol!

ABC is expected to officially make the announcement during the September 12 Bachelor Pad.  Until then…we wait!

Here is the latest issue of Sports Illustrated!  How exciting to see some of our boys on the cover!

Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Nyjer Morgan are the first set of Brewers(or Brewer) to grace the cover exclusively since 1987 when slugger Rob Deer was featured.

According to a spokesman for SI, other than this week and Deer in 1987, the Brewers have only graced the cover five other times.  Those would be:

  • April 20, 1987 (B.J. Surhoff, Paul Molitor and Mike Felder, featured as part of MLB “What They Make” package)
  • October 25, 1982 (Robin Yount)
  • November 11, 1982 (Robin Yount)
  • March 16, 1981 (Rollie Fingers)
  • April 30, 1979 (manager George Bamberger)

Keep up the good work boys!

So I got handed two tickets to see Janet Jackson at the Milwaukee Theater last night and I jumped up and down!  I have met and interviewed her, but never seen her in concert.

Let me just say….it was amazing!!  It was her #1’s tour so it was just hit song after hit song and she looked great.

She started the show with Pleasure Principal and ended with Together Again.  It was sweet because she played pics of her and Michael when they were little on a big screen behind her while she sang Together Again.

If you haven’t already, I really hope you get to see her sometime!

Well, I know you will all be shocked by this, but Janelle’s loser boyfriend Kieffer has been arrested again.

He was arrested in North Carolina for assault after allegedly punching a girl and her male friend in front of a convenience store.

According to the report, the male was bleeding heavily and is a former friend of Janelle’s.

Obviously, not a shocker to any of us that watch the show.  What a loser!

Well, it is finally here!!!  Want some good tips on shopping at the fair??

The state’s Better Business Bureau is offering some advice about the latest scams at the Wisconsin State Fair that will make fairgoers smarter consumers.

  • Prior to making a purchase, get the company’s refund and exchange policy — in writing, if possible.
  • Obtain the company’s physical location and telephone number, in case you need to return or exchange an item after the event.
  • As with any purchase, it makes sense to comparison shop. Keep in mind, however, that the least expensive item may not always be the best value. If you are making a large purchase, don’t be afraid to leave the fairgrounds to do some research.
  • Don’t be pressured to buy. After the demonstration or sales pitch, walk away from the sales person to give yourself some time to think about the purchase.
  • Ask the vendor if a sale price will be honored after the fair — if so, you will not feel pressured to purchase the item “on the spot.”

The organization says it’s important to note that the Federal Trade Commission’s “cooling-off rule,” which normally allows consumers three days to cancel a purchase, does not apply to the following purchases at fairs:

  • Purchases under $25
  • Goods or services not primarily intended for personal, family, or household purposes
  • Insurance, securities, or real estate
  • Motor vehicles
  • Arts and crafts

Happy shopping!!
