Will Your Favorites Make the Cut?
Downsizing is everywhere, man. It’s even affecting the one industry in America we thought was untouchable . . . cookie production.
–The Girl Scouts are cutting back on the different types of cookies they’re selling. Right now they have 11 varieties . . . but this year, some troops are only selling SIX as a test. If the test works, they’ll officially cut down to six flavors next year.
–By cutting flavors, they can save money on production, and also help the Girl Scouts focus their sales efforts. So which six are going to survive? Basically, it’s the classics.
#1.) Thin Mints
#2.) Do-Si-Dos, which are the two oatmeal cookies with peanut butter in between.
#3.) Trefoils, which are the shortbread cookies.
#4.) Samoas, also known as Caramel deLites, the vanilla cookies covered in caramel and sprinkled with coconut.
#5.) Lemon Chalet Cremes, the cinnamon cookies with lemon filling.
#6.) Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties, the vanilla cookies layered with peanut butter and covered in chocolate.
–The flavors getting cut are Thanks-A-Lot, sugar-free chocolate chip cookies, Dulce De Leche, Lemonades, and Thank U Berry Munch.
–Thin Mints are the biggest seller, and account for about 25% of all sales. Samoas are next, at 19% . . . then Tagalongs at 13% . . . Do-Si-Dos at 11% . . . and Trefoils at 9%. All of the others add up to about 23%.
–Girl Scout Cookies bring in more than $714 MILLION every year, and usually make up at least two-thirds of every local Girl Scout council’s budget.
Could the oh so happy and chipper Kristen Stewart be going from vampires to dwarfs? Please excuse the sarcasm.
The actress is reportedly the leading contender for the title role in Snow White and the Huntsman, a live-action adaption of the classic fairy tale. Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron are also up for parts in the film.
In the upcoming retelling of the Grimm brothers story, the Huntsman will serve as Snow White’s protector and mentor.

The 18-year-old singer/actress topped AOL’s JSYK.com survey in 2009 and she has now taken the dubious honour for a second time as the recipient of the 2010 title.
The award, which is voted for by youngsters aged between nine and 15, comes after a scandalous year for Cyrus, which saw her caught on camera allegedly smoking hallucinogenic legal high Salvia from a bong.
Cyrus dominated the the JSYK.com poll with 58 per cent of the votes, ahead of actress Lindsay Lohan at two and troubled teen star Demi Lovato at three.
The average woman has about 22 pieces of clothes in her wardrobe that she will never wear but absolutely refuses to throw out, a survey shows.
Impulse buys are the main reason for the unworn clothing pile-up, according to 45 percent of those questioned.
And despite these items taking up as much as 5 percent of storage space, just one in eight women regularly clears out their wardrobes.
Jeans are the most common item of unworn clothes, with 88 percent saying they own at least one pair that they would never be seen out in.
One in five hoard up to six pairs of shoes that will never be worn.
And almost everyone owns at least one top they would not be seen dead in

Former heavyweight world champion boxer Mike Tyson and wife Lakiha have named their new son Morocco Elijah Tyson.
Mike Tyson has named his new son Morocco Elijah Tyson.
The former heavyweight world champion boxer and his wife, Lakiha Spicer Tyson, welcomed the little boy into the world yesterday (25.01.11) and have now decided on his exotic moniker.
The tot – who weighed in 8lbs 13oz – was born at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada, and both mother and baby are doing well.
A spokesperson for the couple – who are already parents to two-year-old daughter Milan – said: “Morocco Elijah Tyson arrived January 25 in Henderson, Nevada, weighing in at 8lbs and 13 oz, and measuring 19 inches in length.”
The news of Morocco’s arrival comes 18 months after the tragic death of Mike’s four-year-old daughter Exodus in a horrific accident in 2009 when a chord from a treadmill became wrapped around her neck. Mike and Lakiha, 32, married just 10 days after the ordeal.
Mike has been married twice before, to actress Robin Givens and Monica Turner and has five other children: Rayna, Amir, Mikey, Miguel and D’Mato, from his marriages and by ex-girlfriends.
The 44-year-old retired sportsman – who became the youngest heavyweight champion of all time when he won his first title in 1986 – is thought to have earned over $300 million throughout his in-ring career, but in May last year claimed he was broke but happy with his position in life.
He said: “I’m totally destitute and broke. But I have an awesome life, I have an awesome wife who cares about me. I’m totally broke. I had a lot of fun. It just happened.
“I don’t deserve to have the wife that I have; I don’t deserve the kids that I have, but I do, and I’m very grateful.”
